First wrong belief: it’s possible to have spot reduction of fat. I don’t think it can work like that, even i’m sure that dietician expert will agree with me. No matter what type of exercises you do, you cannot force your body to spot reduce your fat under any circumstances. For example in the hope of reducing belly fat, you do only crunches and leg lifts frequently. Soon you will notice that you only reduce the muscle mass that resides beneath the abdomen instead of reducing your belly fat. That’s why your focus should not be on crunches and leg lifts only alone, you also need to follow a healthy belly fat loss diet that would boost your metabolism rate and help you burn fat faster!

Second wrong belief: You can lose fat by reducing your calorie in drastically. Most people only eat once a day and hunger themself because of this myth. People are willing to do this crash dieting in the hope of losing those extra pounds, which instead of helping them, least realizing that this crash dieting only harm their bodies. As a matter of fact, your body realizes that you are going to destroy it when you starve or fast, so it goes into the starvation mode.Your body burns your muscles instead of fat, which is kept in reserve for producing energy and also slows down your metabolic rate while in starvation mode. By this way, you can see that you don’t lose much fat at all; yes you will lose some weight for a while, in fact it is your valuable muscles that you’re losing. And you will gain that extra weight back once you return to your normal diet.

Third wrong belief: cardio exercises alone will help you to lose weight. Well, it is true that cardio exercises can help you to lose fat, but it’s not that effective if it was done alone. As a matter of fact, you will lose the almost same amount of fat doing either cardio or aerobics. On the other hand, weight lifting is better than both cardio and aerobics. It will build muscle, and you know that muscle burns fat, so it’s not only helps you burn fat during the exercise, but also even after that!
