This is only temporary as after two to three days the fluids are back in the body.

A side effect to this is bloating and the person may feel like they need to use the laxatives again in order to get the feeling of weight loss back. Blood in the diarrhea is a side effect of the overuse of laxatives. Other side effects can be vomiting, feeling nauseous, and being dehydrated. If one uses laxatives for an extended period of time it can cause their bowels to not work without the laxatives. Sometimes it can cause serious bowel damage. Because of these reasons it is not recommended that people use a laxative diet for weight loss.

Water Pills



Diuretics are also known as water pills. These Water pills have become very common for people to use for weight loss. Like laxatives these types of diuretics will not give the results that are expected. They can also cause the body to be dehydrated and then the body’s natural response is to retain water later on. This can cause more abuse of the diuretics. If using diuretics for a long period of time it can cause very serious kidney damage.

Because of all the harmful side effects and the fact that it is just fluid that is lost from the body not weight it is very dangerous to use a laxative diet for weight loss. There are other ways to lose weight, which are not harmful to the body. A proper diet, and especially exercise, is the best way to lose weight and you will not harm yourself doing it.
